In NYC Steele studied improv and acting, among other things, at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and The School for Film and Television. After getting loaded up on education and some "NY experience", she moved to L.A.

Since then, AmyJo, has played the lead in Neil Simons, "Proposals" and also "The Dining Room", at The Huntington Beach Playhouse. She has done several promotional spots for Lifetime Television and guest starred on "Touched By and Angel" and "Promised Land". She has done numerous feature films, including, "Networth", directed by Kris Wiseman, "Leo the Lion" directed by Joseph Reitman, "A Cat's Tale" from Universal Pictures Productions, and recently finished working on an independent film, opposite Jay O. Sanders, and Kathleen Quinlan, called "The Dissection of Thanksgiving".

She is continually discovering new facets of creativity and has been able to hone her skills as an actor and writer by continuously collaborating, and performing with the "Very Angry Neighbors". She has loved working with this group and has thoroughly enjoyed the creative freedom it allows. She still doesn't understand how the 101 freeway can go both north and south, and east and west.
